KADIFF HOST CROSS RIVERS STATE HON. COMMISSIONER FOR HEALTH DR. BETTA EDU AHEAD OF KADIFF 2020. 

Kaduna international film festival is concerned with the increasing number of rape cases in Nigeria since the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown, in view of this the founder of KADIFF Israel Kashim Audu hosted the hon. Commissioner for health, Cross Rivers State Dr. Betta Edu on Instagram live to discuss "Rape; the role of Public figures in ending rape, tackling the problem and possible solutions". According to the founder of KADIFF this is in Preparation for the main festival coming up from the 25th - 29th August 2020. 

Dr. Betta Edu express her concern at the increasing cases of rape in the country since the COVID-19 lockdown,  while answering questions from the founder of KADIFF according to her there is no reason why a man should rape a lady for whatever reason when a lady says No it means No. Men need to respect that while emphasising that Religious, traditional leaders, parents, public office holders need to do more in also condemning the act of rape and speak against it but
 It is sad that some of the public figures are being accused of rape, we also need to do our own part. 

The hon. Commissioner for health, cross Rivers State in her own view advocate life in prison for rapist, Dr. Betta commended the Nigerian Senate for passing the sexual harasment law for higher institutions but  emphasized on implementing them. While concluding her last words she is hopeful that together we can overcome rape, urging us to stay safe.

In conclusion, the founder of KADIFF in a special way, thank the Hon. Commissioner for health in Cross Rivers State for her participation in the program and for giving us her time even in her busy schedule.
